A Breath Of Fresh Air

You know how every once in a while, a stranger will compliment you and it's just what you needed to hear?

That happened yesterday.

We had registered online for a bedspread at Belk, but it was on sale and had been there for a while.

So, last night, we went in just to ask and see if it would still be there closer to December. The girl said she couldn't guarantee it. And since this was the only bedspread we had found that we agreed on, we decided to just go ahead and buy it.

Well, as we were standing there, the cashier was talking to us, just about the usual: When we got engaged, When we were getting married, I was still in school, and Brice had graduated and was working.

Then she asks me: And how old are you?

To which I replied 20.

She looked kind of shocked, as most people do, and said, "Wow, I thought you were at least 23."

So, I said, "Well, it can go both ways. Some people will tell me I look 22-23. And then the same day, someone will tell me I look 16."

Then, that girl, bless her. She said, "Not the way you look, but the way you carry yourself."

And that just meant a lot that she would say that. To a complete stranger. And it makes me proud that my character shines for others to see.

She was a breath of fresh air, and I can't wait to go back and see her sunny self when we finish our Belk registry on Saturday!

And for curious minds, this is the bedspread we bought.

Oh How Pinteresting

I'm linking up with Michelle for Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday!

Brice and I went and created our wedding registries on Monday, and boy was that an adventure! We quickly found out what the other did or didn't like!

So, for a little home inspiration, I looked to pinterest! Here's what I found!

I love the look of this simple room! It's gorgeous!

What a "neatly chaotic" junk closet!

We might need this doormat!

My bed (the bigger of the two of ours) doesn't have a headboard, so it would be neat to make one out of antique shutters like these!

Love this living room! Unfortunately, Brice doesn't really like yellow, so our house will be decorated with minimal yellow.

I need a closet like this! Unfortunately, apartment closets just don't look like this...

And I'm thinking I need a library in my ceiling...

Go link up with Michelle and show us what you've found on pinterest!

Baby Crochet

We have some friends who are having a sweet baby girl in about a month, so for their present from me and Brice, I made them a few crocheted baby things!

I had never made anything for a baby before, but I'm hooked now! Everything is so much cuter when it's made baby-sized!

And, I know you might think I'm silly for making crocheted things for a summer baby, but these things are a little bigger than newborn sized, so by the time the weather gets cooler, they should fit perfectly!

I first made a baby cocoon and hat. I had seen these on pinterest, mainly used for baby portraits. And I found the cutest pattern online here. (I embellished the pattern slightly to make it more my own) It's a little owl hat and cocoon. And the hat can be worn alone because it's super precious!

I also made a cute little purply-blue hat with a big green bow! Who doesn't love big bows?!? I might just have to make one of these that's me-sized! :)

I love the scalloped trim on everything! It adds just the cutest little girly touch over just a straight edge.

I made a little bow on a headband too, but forgot to take a picture of it...whoops.

They loved it all, and I can't wait to see what the baby looks like in them!

MOO

Most of you lovely ladies probably already know all about Klout. Well, I've recently discovered how great Klout is! I joined several months ago, but just now discovered it's greatness.

I redeemed a Klout perk a couple of weeks ago, my first perk ever!

It was for 50 free business cards from MOO! So, of course, I headed on over and started designing blog business cards. That was the only logical decision, right?

Well, they came in last week and I am so impressed with them!! If you need business cards, I highly suggest MOO. These cards are thick and sturdy, not just flimsy paper, and they're made so that they're eco friendly!

Here's what mine look like:

You could do a different image on each card if you wanted, but I just chose to do these three.

And on the back, I put all my social media information!

I have seen blog business cards before when people send cards or swaps, so I've been wanting some of my own!
And even better when they're free!!

I was not compensated for this post in any way. These are solely my own opinions.

A Busy Weekend!

This past weekend was filled with fun activities!

First, I went to see my sweet friend Patrick graduate! He was the salutatorian of his class so he got to give a welcome speech that was so good!

Giving his speech!

Up on the big screen!

Getting that diploma!

I'm not sure why this turned out so blurry! Wish I had noticed it sooner!

While we were at graduation, Taylor was coloring to keep herself entertained. So she drew me some pictures. And I love how she spelled my last name!

Then, after graduation, I headed to the mall to meet up with Michelle!
She's doing her own Georgia recaps on her blog, so be sure to check them out!

I met her and her mom at the mall and then took them on a little tour of Macon.
We went to the "Welcome to Macon" sign so they could prove they had been here!
And then we drove in a giant loop to downtown and back so they could see where Jason Aldean grew up!

After we drove around a little bit, we headed back to the mall for some good southern barbecue!

I had so much fun hanging out with them!
Michelle was exactly as sweet as I had expected!
It was interesting finding out what we might have down here that they don't have in New York and vice-versa.

We decided that Michelle needs to come back for a longer visit soon!

I'm so glad that my blog-friend is now a real life friend!

Meeting bloggers is a great experience and I'm so glad I got to meet Michelle!

Lastly, on Sunday, we headed up to see Leslie and her family!
Of course, we didn't take any pictures...
But we had a great time catching up with them!

I'm so glad that I was able to have so much fun packed into one weekend!

Ready for the weekend!

I am so ready for this weekend to be here!!!

Why?

Because I finally get to meet this girl!

Michelle was one of the first blogs I started following when I began blogging.

She is just the sweetest person you'll meet!
We've become great friends.
We tweet, email, text, and send cards to each other.
And now she'll be a blog friend turned real life friend!!

She's coming to visit the hometown of her favorite, Jason Aldean.

And I just happen to live in that town!

So naturally, we decided we MUST meet!

She and her sweet mama are meeting me for a little tour around town and some delicious dinner from the south!

Michelle may live in New York, but I know she's a southern girl at heart.
It's time to turn her into a Georgia peach!

I have been looking forward to this for months!!
I am so SUPER excited!!

Michelle, get your booty here!!

I cannot wait for it to be Saturday afternoon!!
Rest assured, I will blog about this glorious blate next week! :)

The Beard Beanie

We've all seen this pin floating around pinterst.

Source: etsy.com via Sarah on Pinterest

Well, I decided I wanted to make one of my own. But I wanted to make mine grown-up sized.

So I searched and searched online for the perfect beard beanie pattern. And then I got discouraged because I couldn't find one that really worked.

Until one day I stumbled upon the perfect beard beanie pattern.

Source: jjcrochet.com via Sarah on Pinterest

This was it! The beard I needed!

So I immediately set out to make my own beard beanie. Because I had promised my friend Mitchel one like 2 years ago, no exaggeration...

Once I was finished, I took it over to Mitchel's and presented him with the first Sarah Poupard Beard Beanie.

These things go for $30-40 online!
This is when it pays to know crafts like this!

Now all my guy friends want them...
Here's to making beard beanies.

Slacker

I have been such a slacker in the blog department lately! Hopefully this summer I'll have fun shenanigans to blog about so I can blog more!

Anyways, here's a little of what I've been up to this past week.

Wedding:
We've been shopping for various wedding related items the past few weeks. And while we were out, we were looking at cake toppers. Brice wanted this one:
We didn't get it though...I think we've found one, but I'm not quite sure. If you know of any good places with wedding cake toppers, let me know!

Candles:
I'm running out of my favorite smell!! This candle is literally down to its last little bit...I just don't want to fork over the money for a new one...Candles are expensive!

 Flowers:
Brice got me these gorgeous flowers for our 2 years! And then we realized we didn't have a vase at his apartment...so they're currently sitting in water in a plastic cup from the fair. Don't judge.

Napkins:
We've been looking at napkins for the wedding, and while we were at party city, we found these precious napkins:
Love them!

 Reading:
Now that it's summer, I finally have time to read for fun! And I have a ton of books on my "To Read" list!! I just bought Sophie Kinsella's newest book "I've Got Your Number." I read it in like 2 days and LOVED it. But then, I love everything she writes...

Sorry I've been such a slacker.
I'll try to be better.
In fact, I'm going to go ahead and schedule a post for tomorrow...

All You Need Is Love

A few weeks ago, I entered a giveaway over at Blair's blog! And I won! I always love winning prizes!

This one was especially fun! I won a pair of custom hand embroidered toms! I have never had any toms before, so it was super exciting!

I worked together with Shanti @ Free Range Chick to create my beauties! I told her what I was picturing in my head, and she send me a proof with EXACTLY what I saw in my head! She's a genius!!

And after a few days, my toms were on their way to me!! Unfortunately, I had gone out of town on Friday before they arrived, so they hung out on my porch until I got back. Sunday night when I got home, I tore into those babies!
The right foot says "All you need is love" across the top with a few hearts
Those are my favorite Beatles lyrics.

And the left foot has our names and wedding date on the side

I am SO happy with the way these turned out!
I did them in our wedding colors, and I think it's a cool way to commemorate our wedding date!
I might wear them as we leave for our honeymoon so I'll be comfortable for the car ride.

So, friends, go on over to Shanti's blog and Etsy store and design your own toms!
Go look at her TOMS pinterest board and look at how talented she is!

She literally can create anything you want on your toms!
She has wedding ones, hunger games ones, sorority ones, and so much more!

I am so impressed and wish I had the talent, time, and patience to do stuff like this!

Shanti, thank you so much for my toms!
I LOVE them!
You're the bomb.com

And while we're loving things today,
it's mine and Brice's two year anniversary today!
I love him to death and can't wait to marry him!

Life Lately

Hello lovelies!
I'm linking up again to show you what's been on my phone!

We finally got a name tag for Maggie's collar.

I went to see my two favorite seniors at the Senior banquet at church.

Emma and I learned to make woven bead bracelets.
This crap is hard and time consuming.

Brice took a little trip to the ER by ambulance for some chest.
He's okay now.

I made some brownies.

so precious.

This is what I'm reading. It's pretty good so far!

We saw the supermoon from the beach.

I'm addicted to these lately.

Thank you pinterest.

Lastly, Jasmine is hosting a summer blog swap! Go join it so you could possibly be paired up with me and get some fun summer goodies! :)

Target Tuesday!

I'm linking up with Tara for Target Tuesday!!

I had been eyeing a book bag at Target for several weeks, but I didn't want to fork over the 30 bucks for it.
So I didn't get it...
And then our Target didn't have it anymore.

Well, Emily calls me from the Target in the next town over and says they have it, and its on sale for 25 dollars.
So I bought it as my end of the semester reward for all my hard work!

I love it!

Have you gotten anything cute at Target lately?
