Miranda Lambert

Last Thursday night, Mama and I went to see Christ Young, Jarrod Neiman, and Miranda Lambert in concert! I lovelovelove Miranda, and we had a blast!

We had great seats, and could see everything perfectly!
And there ended up being an empty seat beside me, so I didn't have to sit close to any obnoxious drunks!

We were right by the screens too!

She was such a fun performer!

She got down on her knees to sing "More Like Her" and it was awesome!

For her last song before the encore, she sang a Jason Aldean song since she was in his hometown. And it was amazing! I thought of Michelle every time Miranda mentioned Jason's name, which was quite often throughout the night!

It was such a great concert! Can't wait for her to come back to town!

Happy News!

Saturday afternoon, I got the happiest text message and phone call of the year so far!

My sweet newest best friend Emily got engaged! Her boyfriend fiance, Josh, did so good! So, I asked for permission to steal her pictures off of facebook and share the story with you guys, and she said of course!

They went walking on some trails, and Emily was completely oblivious to the whole thing.
Josh suggested they walk a little off the trail to a little gazebo/hut thing, and silly Emily insisted they stay on the trail and follow the map.
But Josh convinced her to go over to the hut and she saw this:

He had it all set up with flowers and pictures of them!
And his sister had set her camera up on the tripod, so they have the whole thing on video!

I am SO proud of Josh! He had it all planned out so well!

The lovebirds in the engagement hut!

LOVE this picture of them!

Her GORGEOUS ring! Which is exactly what she wanted!

Emily and Josh,
I am SO happy for you guys! I can't wait for us to go through this year of wedding planning together!
Emily, I'm so glad we've gotten to be such close friends, and I'm so happy we're twins! :)
Love you guys!

What's getting me through the week...

First of all, let's take a look at what my Wednesday looks like:
Graph Theory midterm: Will be the hardest test EVER.
Mathematical Models Quiz: will be fairly easy, but still...
Linear Algebra Test: Memorize answers for study guide.
But regardless of how easy the last two might be, the fact that there is so much on one day is a recipe for disaster.

BUT, things I'm looking forward to this week:

Leslie is coming to visit this weekend! I'm super excited that she gets to see my ring in person! It was being resized last time I saw her...and I guess it'll be good that she FINALLY gets to meet the fiance, too... ;)

I have exciting news to share tomorrow! I got such a great phone call this past weekend, and full details are in tomorrow's post!

Leslie, Emily, and I are going thrifting in Atlanta this weekend. There's supposedly a great Goodwill up there where all the ritzy folks donate their designer duds. Like, we're talking 7 For All Mankind jeans for $5. We're hoping to score big.

And, two weeks from today starts Spring Break!! I'll be sitting at home, on my butt, doing nothing. Which is exactly the way I want it.

Now, for Phone Photo Fun, I'm linking up here:

Maggie loves to cuddle with her little baby. It's the only toy she brought with her when we adopted her, and she loves that thing!

I love to knit. And this ended up being one of my favorite scarves I've ever made.

These are the best cookies ever. Found at our local coffee shop.

I hate rainy days.

I need to read all these books before I'm allowed to buy any more.

Our new Gumby glasses! Best $3.50 I've ever spent!

The only good thing about driving Mama's car. 90's on 9.

#1 procrastination aid: Jenna Marbles.

Miranda Lambert Concert! More on that later this week...

Love these two snuggle bugs!

This was an ad on Megan's blog the other day when I was reading...I'm Methodist...and a nanny...Ironic.

Brice took Maggs in to be groomed yesterday, and he facetimed me so I could see her.
But she wouldn't be still, so my picture is blurry...

And last but not least, facebook decided to inform me that I wrote a comment on a picture of myself...just in case I didn't remember writing it?

Sorry for the long-ish post, and huge photo dump. I'm working on photo dumping more often so it isn't such a photo overload all at one time!

Nail Files Linkup!

The Nail Files

I'm linking up this week for the nail files link up!
My theme for this week was the glitter accent nail. I actually painted my nails twice this week, so I'll share both!

Essie- Big Spender
OPI- Excuse Moi, from the Muppets Collection

OPI- I don't remember the exact color, and I don't have it with me, but I think it may be Princesses Rule!
China Glaze- Mahoganie

I love the glitter accent nail, and the OPI/China Glaze mani I did this week has been my favorite so far!
What are your favorite glitter polishes? I'm addicted and always need more! :)

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

A few weeks ago, Lauren had a giveaway to celebrate reaching 100 followers. I never win giveaways, but that doesn't stop me from entering! Well, it finally paid off because I won!!

I won an acrylic monogrammed tray, and I was SO excited.

For the monogram, I went ahead and used my future initials. I'm getting married in 10 months, so it didn't make sense to use my current initials when they'll be changing soon anyways!

I love this tray!
I took the picture on top of my laptop so you'd be able to see the monogram.

It now resides on my bedside table to hold my engagement ring, bracelet, and lotions, etc.

I love love love it!
Thanks Lauren! :)

Vent Sesh

I'm just going to need to vent here for a second if that's okay with you guys.

At our school, there's two different tracks for Math majors. There's a Math Education Track (which I'm on) and there's an Applied Math Track. BOTH of these tracks will graduated with MATH degrees. But the Math Ed track will also be certified to teach, due to some education classes we take.

The difference in the tracks is that there's three classes the Applieds have to take that we don't. THREE. Other than that, we take the same required classes. Now, there are classes that the Applieds have to take as electives that we don't because that's where our education classes fit into our schedules.

With that being said, I about hit my limit today with those darn Applied majors. For real. They had a test today in one of the classes I don't have to take. But for weeks, all we've heard about is this class. Yes, I get that it may be a hard class, but my life doesn't revolve around it the way yours seems to. And so today, I almost went a little crazy on some folks.

And, I don't mind people venting about a class from time to time. We all do it. But when you do it in a way that puts me down for not taking this class, that's when we're not okay. These peers of mine always talk about this class like it makes them smarter than the education majors. (And I'm not the only educ major who has noticed this.)

Let's use this conversation from class today as Exhibit A: (AM= applied major; EM= education major)
1st AM: Do y'all (referring to educ majors) have to take this class?
EM: nope.
1st AM: I knew I should've been an education major...
2nd AM: No you shouldn't have. You know you wouldn't have been happy if you were.
1st AM: Yeah, you're right.

Excuse me, but RUDE. If it weren't for education majors, YOU WOULDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO DO MATH!!!

Like, really, you are no smarter than me just because you're an applied math major.

**there is one exception to the applied majors, and this exception is really super sweet and so willing to help you with anything, and never brags about the classes he's taking.

Sorry for this rant-y post. I just needed to unload. And since I know nobody from school really reads my blog, this was the safest outlet for me to get it all out.

And I'm sorry there's no picture, LB. But there we no pictures accurate enough to convey my emotions over this issue.

Target Tuesday!

Today, I'm linking up for my first ever Target Tuesday over at Tara's!

I was looking at Savanah's post this morning about some super cute sandals she bought the other day, and I decided I needed to have them.

So today before class, Emily and I went in to Target to buy one pair of sandals. I came out with three shirts and two pairs of shoes, and she came out with a shirt and a pair of shoes. Overall, a productive trip I'd say!
Here's what we got.

My loot:

These two shirts were only $3.60 on clearance!

This was also on clearance for $3.60!

I am always looking for cute flats for when I start teaching next semester, and these were on sale for $12.48, and originally $24.99!

And the only thing I went in to get were these...whoops!

Emily's loot:
This cute tank

And these cute "teacher" shoes on sale!

I'd say we had a successful trip!
