Phone Fun

It's that time again! Linking up with Savanah!

These are pictures from the past 2 weeks because last Monday, I was out of town and completely forgot to schedule a post.

Please ignore if the format is all screwy. I tried to put multiple pictures on the same line, and some of them wouldn't cooperate. It looks okay on my screen, but it may not on yours...

Several of us went to help prepare and serve a Thanksgiving lunch for Macon Outreach on the Friday before Thanksgiving.

Did the glitter accent nail for Thanksgiving. Daddy says it looks stupid. He just doesn't get it...

Our Thanksgiving craft. We were each given the name of someone in our family, and had to write why we were thankful for them.

Pretty fields on the way to and from Americus.

I went to visit some friends in Decatur the Monday and Tuesday of the week of thanksgiving. We stumbled upon this awesome Big Bang Theory board game, bought it, and played it. And I had my first ever drink from Starbucks. #don'thateme. I don't like coffee, so it's hot chocolate.

Hi, my name's Leo. I'm the new furbaby.

Dad locked me up in this gate, but look! I can stand up on it!
I got all the way over it too! I showed you, dad!

Dad, let's be real. I'm too smart for this gate.

Can't forget furbaby #1! We still love our sweet Zoey.

The Carter's dog, Carly, was sitting like a human watching tv. too funny.

Last Friday night, I went back to my high school alma mater to watch them play for state. They won! And then we went for some serious bacon eating.

Brice didn't like the smell of the apple candle I had lit when he got home the other day, so he lit his ocean mist one. We had competing smells.

Some of my favorite ornaments.
Don't you love my HUGE glasses, crossed eye, and righteous bangs?
And I love the ornament with my name. The Bentleys gave it to me when I was little.
And star chick cracks me up! She is my absolute favorite ornament!

My Christmas dress from when I was little

Our Tree

This was the case I ordered for my phone. But it doesn't fit right, so they're reprinting it on a different case. The new one should be here soon, hopefully!

Just chilling out.//Got something on my nose!

It all started at Half-time.

Brice and I were watching the UGA/GT game today. It started at 12, so we were going to run and grab some lunch during half-time. Well, on our way to get some delicious NuWay hotdogs, we drove past the pet adoption group set up outside Kroger. We thought, well hey, let's just look. Remember when I talked about our trouble finding a dog, here.

When we got out of the car to walk across the parking lot, we spotted the cutest little dog. And it looked like a terrier (which are supposedly hypoallergenic). Well, we walk over there, and the lady says it's a schnauzer mix (which, we wanted a schnauzer). In that instant, I remember thinking, "We're going home with this dog." So, I played with the dog, to see if it might start bothering me.

As we stood there talking to the lady, I could just see the thought process going on in Brice's head. His logic: We had been looking for a dog like this, and we'd hate to not get it and then it be gone when we came back.

So, we had a serious heart-to-heart right there. We had to make the decision: If this dog ends up making me sick, are we going to be able to bear to give it back.

We decided to give it a shot and see what happens. So, we adopted that precious pup. As of right now, it's 9:50 PM, and we've had him since 2 PM, and we've seen no signs of allergic reactions...fingers crossed.

 Our precious puppy!

 Just hanging out.
He's really laid back for a puppy.

His name was King, but since he's only 14 weeks old, we're going to change it to Leo.
Short for Leonardo. Of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Checking things out through the window after our trip to Petsmart

 Chowin' down on some dinner.

I convinced Brice into getting the giraffe toy.

My boys playing on the floor.

 Tired after a long day!

Big ol' paws!
We're not sure how big he'll get because we don't know what type schnauzer he is (Giant, Standard, or Miniature)

Sleeping good! Dead to the world, even with Brice yelling at the tv watching football.

Keep your fingers crossed that I don't have any allergic reactions this week so we can keep him!
One of his papers says he's a schnauzer mix, and another says he's a terrier mix, and both of those types are supposed to be hypoallergenic. He doesn't shed. And I was the one holding him mostly today because we spent a lot of time in the car. He was all in my face, too. But I haven't shown any symptoms yet! So, fingers crossed!

Brice told me, "I'm going to pray real hard every night that you don't end up allergic. 'Cause if I have to pick between you and the dog...I might pick the dog..."

And even though we love our new furbaby, we can't forget our first furbaby, Zoey:
Leo checked her cage out this afternoon, so we'll see if they get along.

Movie Etiquette

Mama and I just got home from going to the movies to see Breaking Dawn. And it was an awful experience. People are so rude and disrespectful to others at the movie theater!

One family brought all 6234233943 of their children. Ranging in age from about 8 years to 6 months. I kid you not. And that baby made noise the ENTIRE movie. Did they take it out of the theater? For 20 seconds and then the next time it made noise, they didn't move.

Then, everybody was texting the entire time. Do they not know it lights up the entire theater? Can you not be separated from your phone for 2 hours? I'm sure your friend could've waited just a little while if you were like "hey I'm at the movies. catch ya later."

Also, I understand wanting to be comfortable. I do. But when someone is sitting directly in front of you, don't put your sock feet up on the back of the chair. My mama don't want your nasty feet in her hair.

And these were only a few of the things we experienced. A few more annoying things happened, too.

So, here for you, I've composed some rules for movie-going.

  1. If you have kids, but are not going to see a kid movie, PLEASE hire a babysitter. One, your kid isn't going to know what's going on in the movie. And two, everyone else will thank you.
  2. Turn your phone off. Your conversation can wait. Plus, everyone will thank you for not blinding them.
  3. Don't put your feet on the chair in front of you unless there is no one sitting in it. It will save you from evil glares from the person in front of you when you accidentally kick them in the head.
  4. Please don't talk to those around you. This, like everything else, is obnoxious and distracting.
  5. I understand some people smoke. That's their decision. But please don't do it right outside the theater door. When I come out of a building, I'd prefer not to inhale smoke. My allergies will thank you for moving a little farther down the sidewalk.
  6. Ticket sellers, please alert me when I'm buying one of the last few tickets. The idea of sitting on the front row does not appeal to me. I'll come back another time. (This didn't happen tonight, but has happened previously, so I included it.)
  7. Movie theaters, if you are not going to play a movie at the times advertised, please remove those times from your website. If I'm going to drive 25 minutes to your theater, I expect you to be playing the movie when you say you will. (Also, did not happen tonight, but has happened previously on several occasions.)
These are the things that have bugged me the past few times I've been to the movies. Have you had any experiences like this lately? What bugs you at the movies?

**I don't mean to offend anyone with this post. These are my opinions, not meant to hurt any feelings.

Online Shopping

Last night, I made my first ever online shopping purchase. For clothes, that is. Clothes other than quirky, graphic tees. I bought a dress I'm going to wear to a wedding in December. I don't have any real "Wintery" dresses. The Delias catalog came in the mail the other day, and when I was flipping through it, I found THE dress I wanted to wear! It's long sleeved, which I had been looking for. And it's perfectly "Me."

But, I was scared to order it. I had never ordered online before, because I'm always scared it won't fit. I texted my friend, Morgan, who is the Delias Queen, and asked how their clothes ran. I needed to know what size I needed! She pep talked me and told me to get the dress.

I put off ordering it for an entire week because I was so petrified it wouldn't fit! Y'all, I need help. I was embarrassed at how scared I was to order a stupid dress off line. But last night, I sat down and MADE myself order this dress. And I'm praying/crossing my fingers/wishing on stars/wishing on 11:11 that it fits. Because if it doesn't, I don't know what I'm going to do. If it doesn't fit, I'm not sure that I'll have time to send it back and exchange it...which will be traumatic.

This is the little beauty that's causing me so much stress. Found here.

And if anyone reading this is going to that wedding, mark my words, if you show up in this dress too, we'll exchange words. Not nice ones. :)

Fun with our phones!

Linking up with Savanah for Fun with our Phones Monday!! These pictures aren't all from this past week, but since I've been blog-slackin' for a couple of weeks, this is a recap of the past few weeks.

I've been eating Fun-Dip galore since Halloween.
Exhibit A.

I love when the leaves change for Fall.

Brice and I went dog shopping the other day. We did NOT purchase a dog though.
See, he's always grown up with big dogs and I've always grown up allergic to dogs. Well, now he wants a dog. And we've researched all the kinds that are hypoallergenic (supposedly). And we had agreed upon a schnauzer. (even though I still not-so-secretly want a smaller dog) So, Saturday, off we go to the pet store. And schnauzers were not to be found. However, we did find this presh yorkie-poo that I immediately fell in love with and persuaded B to hold in hopes that he would fall in love too. He did not. He claims it's too little. But he is thinking about it in case no schnauzers show up.

This was our group for Halloween Trunk or Treat at our church. In case you can't tell, we're the Rugrats. #90sKids
Also, please excuse my green hair. Apparently yellow hair paint looks green on brown hail. #fail

I need this bowl. For real. I hate soggy cereal.

A typical afternoon babysitting. Snacks, Disney Channel, and Homework.

My outfit today. I tried the sock/boot combo. And I'm still on the hunt for the perfect long, chunky sweater to wear with my leggings.

This is what the inside of our old mall looks like. It had gotten real ghetto-fied and after they built the nicer, outdoor mall, no one really uses the old mall anymore. There's like 10 stores. And now they're trying to re-do it and make it nicer. It looks like it will be pretty nice, when finished. But right now, its scarily deserted.

Fun shaped salad bowl at McAlister's.

Such a healthy breakfast.

Awesome little Vaseline lip therapy.
Like my grandma used to do, I put Vaseline on my lips every night when I go to bed, and it helps keep them not chapped. So, I was excited when I found a perfect purse-sized one I can carry around everywhere! It's so little!

Yummy lunch from NuWay

My cute new background from Cuptakes!
