Day 205: Woodruff House

Brice had a banquet for the computer science department at Mercer tonight, so I went with him. It was at one of the historic houses downtown that I've always wanted to go inside. I was really excited! And we went on the roof...at night...it was kind of scary...but I was excited to finally get to go inside the Woodruff House.

Here's some pictures of the house from my senior year of high school...And please excuse the photo-shopped Twilight reference...this was at the peak of the Twilight fad.

I love how ornate this door is.

This house is so pretty! And it's on a huge hill that overlooks all of downtown.

Day 204: Eat. Bath. Movie.

I spent some quality time with Taylor and Blake tonight! I picked them up and we went to eat pizza. They got some dough to play with, and they were making mustaches and beards.

 Silly Girls

B had a little soul patch action going on.

Then we came back home and took baths and watched Tangled. I had never seen it before, and it was too cute!

Day 203: Finished!

Yesterday, I got some fun pieces of mail:

This precious Save the Date from Greg and Alaina! It's a magnet! How cool is that?

And this funny envelope from Kelly. I love it!

And, as promised, I finished my scarf! Check it out!

It's not the greatest picture in the world, but we were in a hurry...

And, I had some scraps of left over yarn in my bag. So I decided to try and make a head band. Then I made Emma model it for me. It's cute, but I have a feeling that with practice, I can make them cuter. But for my first one, I was impressed!

It was a little too big for her head because I had fitted it to mine when I was making it, so I had to leave it over her ears so it would stay on...which gave me the idea of making thicker ones for ear warmers...So, stay tuned for other little goodies I come up with in the process of getting ready to open an etsy shop!

Day 202: WILW

I'm linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving that I only have one day of finals left! I had a final yesterday, and my huge paper was due today when I took my second final. So, on Monday, I have two finals, then HELLO SUMMER!

I'm loving this new heavenly lavender bubble bath. It is so calm and relaxing!

I'm loving my new Sally Hansen X-treme Wear nail polish in Caribbean Coral. It looks a little different than this...a little more orange-y.

I'm loving that I'm almost done with the scarf I've been working on! Look for pictures tomorrow. I plan to completely finish it today, just have to add a few finishing touches.

I'm loving that I'm completely done with both my Bridge to Higher Math class and my Exploring Learning and Teaching Class. Unless I completely bombed my paper and final today, I have an A in Exploring L&T. And as for Bridge, I have an 89.7, so we're hoping for some rounding up to an A. Keep your fingers crossed!

I'm loving that my Rainbows are finally broken in and not giving me blisters anymore!

I'm loving the book Beastly. I just finished it right before I posted this. I saw the movie, but wanted to read the book too, and they were equally good! A few minor differences, but other than those, it followed the story line pretty well.

I'm loving my chocolate bunnies! I bought three for myself...and then the Easter Bunny brought me another one!

I'm loving my precious drama queen, Emma. Yesterday on the way home from school, she was talking about how she doesn't want to take dance next year because, "Tuesday's at school just make me so tired, so it's hard to go to dance." I told her mom, and we laughed about it for a few minutes.

I'm loving that the new Teacher Education Building at school is almost done! So, next semester all my education classes will be in a brand spankin' new building! SO excited! plus, no more bulldozers!

And I'm loving the new eos lip balm I got yesterday! Except for the minor misfortune I had when I opened it...but it is still wonderful.

This is what it was supposed to look like...

This is what mine looked like :( But, I may leave it in the car to melt and see if it will re-form...

Sorry for the tremendously long post! I had a lot of loves today! Much better than my lack of loves last week! :)
Go link up with Jamie and share what you're loving!

Day 201: Blog Award

I got my very first blog award from Rebecca over at Southern Charm!

I'm supposed to give you five facts about me, and then tag 15 other bloggers. So, here goes:
1. I'm extremely allergic to pecan trees. Weirdly enough, I can eat pecans, it's just something in the trees. And I have to carry around my Epi-pen in case I have a reaction.
2. I'm babysit two wonderful kiddos in the afternoons after school and have them all day during the summer. They're tons of fun and a little comedic relief on rough days.

3. I just got accepted into the School of Education at school, so I'm one step closer to officially becoming a math teacher.

4. I love to knit and crochet, and I taught myself how to do both. I'm in the process of finishing some projects so I can open my own Etsy shop.

5. I'm terribly addicted to shoes. I have way too many pairs already, yet I continue to buy more.

I'm tagging:
Preppy Twin at Preppy Twin
Heather at The Curvy Life
Bon Bon at The Whim Wham Life
Bracey Pate at Handmade and Lovely
Thanks, Rebecca, for my award! I love your blog! So, readers, if you haven't checked out Rebecca's blog, be sure to do so! :)

Day 200: Purchases

Today, some pretty awesome purchases were made. First, I bought this little gem at Best Buy:

This was one of my all-time favorite shows. So, naturally, I bought it so I could relive my childhood. :)

Then, Mitchel wanted to go to Sam's Club? Why not? We had an hour and a half to kill before class. As we moseyed around the story, we came across this little beauty.

Yes, that is an industrial paper towel dispenser. So, Mitchel decides he needs this in his house (please note that "house" refers to an apartment containing 4 boys.) Clearly, the only option is to buy said dispenser and 4,000 accompanying paper towels. Logical? He thought so.

Next came the installation:

Showing it off, Vanna White style

 drilling the holes

screwing it into the wall.

Annnnnnd, the finished product:

Kevin, one of his roommates, was speechless when he saw it. He literally could not speak. I haven't heard what the other two roomies think, but I'm sure they'll be amused.

Day 199: He is Risen!

Happy Easter, everyone! Today has been wonderful! I usually go to our church's contemporary service at 9:45, but today, I was teaching K5 and 1st grade Sunday School at that time. So, Brice and I got up early and went to  the early, more traditional service at our church. It was so different from our service, but a great experience! Then I taught my kiddos and had a wonderful lesson about humility and telling others about Jesus because He is ALIVE!

My family at church

I had accidentally/coincidentally color coordinated with some close family friends of ours, so I took some pictures with their girls. We kept telling Blake to say "Easter bunny" or "Easter basket" to get her to smile, and she got a little confused and kept saying "Easter bunny basket." It was precious.

Me and the girls. It was hard to get both of them looking at the camera. So one is looking above, and one is looking below.

 Me and Rennata

Taylor and Blake in their precious matching dresses

My sweet friends home from college. (Sorry this is really grainy...don't know what happened...)

After church, we came back to my house and ate lunch, and Tucker, Brice, and I opened our "Easter bunny baskets." Then we hunted eggs. Yes, a 13, 19, and 22 year old hunted Easter eggs in my front yard. We are not ashamed.

Now, I know you're all jealous of what I'm doing. I'm writing a 8-10 page paper on punishment in schools for my education class. After I finish this punishment of a paper, I will reward myself with a nice long bath with the new lavender bubble bath I bought yesterday. I'm halfway done. But I needed a break, so what better way to spend it than blogging?

Day 198: Eggs

This afternoon I did my friend from high school's hair for a prom she was going to. I used to do her hair for band events, so it was just like old times!

I liked the bow on the back of her dress

Then, tonight, Brice came up and ate dinner with us, and then we dyed Easter eggs.

Day 197: Finally

I got my Easter dress today! And it was on sale!

It will be revealed in a blog post on Sunday, so stay tuned to see it! :)
