Day 116: Photoshoot

Today, we were walking around campus today, and we noticed two columns with this awkward brick arch side-walk thing in between them. We weren't too sure on the purpose of the arch, other than to use it as a space for a photoshoot.

Day 115: Chandelier

Today was filled with studying and writing papers, so I don't have a picture that I took for today. However, I do have a picture to share with you. I was reading some other blogs today and saw one about this girl who saw a ribbon chandelier at Pottery Barn and decided to make one for herself. Check it out:

 Pottery Barn version

Do It Yourself version

I think I may try to make one of these for my room. But I'll probably do it with little gems instead of birds or flowers.

Day 114: Yay! Good Job!

I hung out with two of my favorite girls tonight. Taylor and Blake haven't had "Sarah Time" in a while, so tonight we made up for lost time. We had some scrumptious chips and cheese for dinner. Blake was really funny because she would dip her chip in cheese, suck all the cheese off the chip, then eat the chip.

Then we went to her room and danced. I know this video is sideways, but it's cute regardless.

Then she went around taking pictures with my camera. So she would walk around telling her subjects to say cheese. Please excuse the blurry picture quality. She wouldn't let me turn the flash on.

 "Cheese, Sarah."

 "Cheese, Taylor."

"Cheese, TV."

Day 113: Chili

Tonight I made chili for Brice and me. It was delicious.

My yummy chili with cheese and sour cream!

Day 112: Bonus

Yesterday, on our Calculus III quiz, we had a bonus question. However, it was a bonus question that was in no way related to math. At all. The question, you ask? "Name at least 3 of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World." I did what I could. I got two of them. So, here, for your enjoyment, is the Seven Wonders of the World.

  1. Great Pyramid of Giza
  2. Hanging Gardens of Babylon
  3. Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
  4. Statue of Zeus at Olympia
  5. Mausoleum of Halicarnassus
  6. Colossus of Rhodes
  7. Lighthouse of Alexandria
I got the first two. Now, it's said that there are the Seven Wonders of the Modern World too, and I ended up putting one of them as an answer. Here's the Modern Wonders:
  1. Chichen Itza
  2. Christ the Redeemer
  3. Colosseum
  4. Great Wall of China
  5. Machu Picchu
  6. Petra
  7. Taj Mahal
I ended up putting the Chichen Itza, but I couldn't remember it's name so I called it the Mayan Pyramid. Hopefully I can at least get 1 bonus point for the answer I got right. And I gained valuable history knowledge in my math class. Who would've thought?

Day 111: Breakfast of Champions

Potato Strings. Best Invention Ever. Although they don't necessarily make the best breakfast, they do make a great after-breakfast snack. I had two pieces of cinnamon toast this morning for breakfast, but I was still hungry. So I ate some potato strings on the way to school, and it held me over until lunch. And they were delicious.

Day 110: Poo-Pourri

My friend Leslie is doing a give-away! Go check out her blog for more details. But she's giving away some Poo-Pourri. Her family swears by this stuff. Hopefully, I can win and check it out!

Day 109: PomPom

I finished another hat today! It's precious! Complete with pompom on top!

Sunday, January 23, 2011

Day 108: Country Strong

Mama and I went to see Country Strong tonight. It was a really good movie. And we went shopping at Belk's. I got a new pillow for my room. I have my new bedspread, but I haven't put the new sheets on my bed, so look for pictures soon of the new bedding.

I love these ruffles!

Day 107: Cellphone

Brice and I took Emma and Tucker to the Mercer basketball game. Even though Mercer lost, it was still lots of fun.

Then we went to a concert at the 567. Grafton's band, Space Ghost, played and released their new ep. And they even drew the cover art for it. Pretty creative.

Day 106: Grandma

Sometimes I feel like a grandma sitting around knitting and crocheting all the time, but that's okay because my grandma-ish ways paid off. Today I finished a matching scarf and hat. And I must say, it's probably my favorite thing I've ever made.

It's a little hard to see it, but the hat has a cute little flower on it.

Day 105: Ducks.

As Mitchel and I were walking across campus today, we passed the pond (which I feel should be made into a parking lot, not made bigger...). And we passed ducks. Lots of ducks. That walked right up to us. Mitchel felt it was a perfect picture opportunity.

Day 104: Coloring

Emma and I colored out of a carousel coloring book today. Actually, it was less a coloring book, more a collection of coloring posters. These pages were huge. And I got to color a giraffe. :)

Day 103: Fararara

These are my Bridge to Higher Math notes from today. Key words from today's lecture: "Uniurs" and "Unick". (That would be Unions and Unique for those of you who are confused.) This class seems really easy so far. Which kind of scares me. Because the name sounds moderately intimidating. But the work is simple. Maybe it's a fake-out. It'll seem easy, then BAM, I'm failing. No, hopefully not. Hopefully it will stay easy...We'll see...

Day 102: Bleh.

The car ride home today was Bleh. It was Bleh because it was raining. Rain = Bleh. But, I started another hat! And no, I'm not finished with the purple one yet, but I'm trying to use some leftover yarn for this one.

Sunday, January 16, 2011

Day 101: Sticky Fingers

We moved/packed a bunch more today. And we got a large majority of things moved that needed to be. There's still some furniture that needs to be moved, but it takes lots of big, strong men to move them, and we only had a few strong men. So that will have to be finished next weekend, but we won't be participating in that move.

As our after-moving reward dinner, we went to Sticky Fingers. Brice's dad had never been, but he really liked it, as I knew he would. Who doesn't love some good Sticky Fingers?

Saturday, January 15, 2011

Day 100: Cat-in-a-box

Today was moving day. We moved a ton of stuff. And the cat was really confused about what was going on, so it hid in a box.

Friday, January 14, 2011

Day 99: Zax.

Brice and I left for Savannah today. We're helping his parents move from their house on Wilmington Island to their new house in Pooler. On the way, we stopped at Zaxby's.

Brice threatened to leave me here. And by here, I mean the Zaxby's in Dublin. Alone. At night.

Thursday, January 13, 2011

Day 98: hats

I, for some reason, have become obsessed with hats. Not wearing hats, just making them. I made one the other day that was pink and green striped. It was really cute.

So, today, I started a new hat. It's purple. I haven't gotten very far, but it will be a hat when I'm done with it.

Day 97: Hey, bro.

We went bowling tonight with Wesley Foundation. It was tons o' fun.

Our lane.

Also, there were these few groups of lanes who were all steadily purchasing alcoholic beverages; however, they were clearly not old enough to be drinking. I mean, some of these people looked like they were in middle school! I kid you not. And they kept eying us while we eyed them.

Day 96: Just Dance

Today the kids didn't have school, so the Thompsons came over and we all played Just Dance 2. It was quite a sight to see. This kids are hilarious. Especially when you have 4 players in a small space, all trying to do their dance moves, but not hit each other at the same time.

I also had my first Chemistry 2 lab of the semester tonight. From 7pm to 9:50pm. Well, actually we got out early tonight, but technically our lab is supposed to be until 9:50, which means I won't get home until 10:30ish. And I am not a fan of this situation. However, it was the only lab that would work with my schedule. So, we'll see how this goes, but I have a feeling that my lab and I won't get along too well.

Day 95: I luh you mur.

Today I was a bum. For real. It was far too cold/icy/dangerous to go outside. So I sat inside my nice warm bed and watched Netflix all day. Now, I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of 9pm for GREEK! That is, if our satellite still decides to work due to ice collection. So, we'll see. I may have to exchange some words with someone if it doesn't work. Because GREEK is one of my most favorite shows. And I have to see what happens with Casey and Cappie. I mean, everyone knows they're supposed to be together. So they just need to stop breaking up and get married already.

 The cast
(This is from two seasons ago when Cappie and Rebecca were together. NOT a fan of that relationship.)

This is from one of my favorite episodes from last season where Case and Cap were happily on again.

This was the sweetest moment ever: They finally realized they needed to be together again. This is pre-kiss. And, I'll admit, it did make me tear up a little bit.

Day 94: MK&A

I can sum up my childhood in three words: Mary-Kate and Ashley. I had everything: the dolls (2 different sets), the books, the movies, the curling iron, cassette tapes, game boy games, the make-up, the clothes, the shampoo and conditioner. Pretty much, you name a product they made, I had it. When I went for a hair cut, I asked for a Mary-Kate circa "Our Lips Are Sealed." When I went to my friend's house, we played Mary-Kate and Ashley because we looked similar. I'll admit, I might have been a little obsessed.

So, naturally, when I discovered all the Mary-Kate and Ashley movie on Netflix, I was more than ecstatic. They've all been added into my instant queue. And of all the movies, I must sadly admit, there is one I somehow managed to miss. I have never seen "New York Minute." Until now. Well, actually, I'm in the middle of it, as we speak. It's pretty good so far, but I still have to admit, "Getting There" is still my favorite. And I felt so "Getting There" on our ski trip earlier this week.

 New York Minute

Getting There

The haircut I so badly wanted, but my hair wouldn't cooperate

I even looked similar to them when I was little. I even had the "Full House"-esque car seat picture.

Can you guess which one is which? Just kidding. I'm on the top. No, wait. The bottom. Hey, we look so much alike, I can't even tell which one is me! No, for real, I'm on the bottom.

Day 93: Chester Drawers

Brice and I put together my new chest of drawers today.

Day 92: New Toys

We went and bought Zoey some new toys tonight.

Day 91: Class.

We started classes yesterday, but since I was on the road, my first day of class was today. My professor looks like Edna from The Incredibles.

Most of my classes are in this building.

Day 90: Car Ride

It was a long, rainy car ride back home today. And it kept fluctuating between hot and cold in the van.

Our vent didn't have the little slat things so it was just an open hole. We didn't have anything to block the cold air, so I used my foot.

Day 88: Snow!

Our first day on the slopes was exciting! To start off the day, since we couldn't tube til 1, Ava, Kate, Lorin, Ashley, and I played a rousing game of Phase 10. This was clearly the proper way to start the day. Then we had fun in the snow!

Day 87: Car Ride

Today was the start of our first ever College and Career Ski Trip! Which means being stuck in a van for FOREVER until we get to West Virginia.

When we stopped for lunch, Brice got a HUGE hamburger.

Then Greg decided to climb the wall outside.

When we got there, we got nice and snuggly in our footie pajamas.

Emily, Lorin, and I
