Day 55: Fireside

Last night, Daddy built a fire in the fireplace. It was very warm and toasty.

Day 54: Rain, Rain Go Away

First of all, today was a nasty, rainy day. I hate the rain. Passionately.

This is where I was most of today.

There were lots of e-mails flying today. It stressed me out having to keep up with them all because so many people were responding one after the other. And while you were typing, someone else might respond, and you would have to go back and catch up. It was very confusing. But it's all over now. The e-mails have stopped coming.

Day 53: Epilogue

I've been re-reading the last Harry Potter book so that I can catch back up on everything that happened before the last movie. I need to re-read the whole series again; it's been too long. But I'll probably wait until this summer to do that...So, tonight I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, again. Oh, what a wonderful book it is. And yes, I still cry at certain parts in the book, even though I know what is going to happen. And so, tonight, I bring you a picture of my favorite part of the book: The Epilogue.

Day 52: 50 Years

We celebrated Brice's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary today. It's actually December 2nd, but we went ahead and celebrated it since everybody was together for Thanksgiving. We went to Mass and they renewed their vows, then we had a lunch.

 Brice and me

Angela and me

Now, we're safely home, and I'm watching the UGA game with my wonderful family and boyfriend, while being snuggly warm in my fleece UGA pajama pants and UGA collegiate Snuggie.

Day 51: Bowling Tournament

We went bowling this afternoon. Well, most of us anyway. We divided the fourteen of us that went into four different teams. Alayne and I were on Pops' team. Now, Pops is a serious bowler, so we had a good feeling about this. Our team won the last game, so we were excited! Brice ended up beating Pops in two out of the three games, and I'll bet he won't ever let Pops forget it either. His team won the second game, and he was in first place out of the kids. I was second to last. I came in just a few points above Camille. But it was a lot of fun.

Then, several of us went to see Burlesque. It was a phenomenal movie. I LOVED it. I love Christina to begin with, but she was amazing in this movie. What a voice she's got. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

At the table in the kitchen, there's only nine chairs, and at any given point, there's at least ten people that need to fit around the table. So, the person with the smallest butt has to sit in the little high chair. This time it was Alayne.

Day 50: Turkey Day

Today was filled with tons and tons of food. Delicious, wonderful food. And fun. Tons of fun. We played lots of games outside. We were worn out right before lunch, so Angela and I went to take a nap. Then we went to eat a delicious Thanksgiving lunch.

 Alayne shooting the gun.

 What a goober.

Mac, Brice, and Camille playing redneck golf.

Angela playing whiffle ball with the huge bat.

Day 49: Mr. Ugly

We left about 7am this morning to head up to South Carolina. Being as how I can't just sit in the car and do nothing, I took my knitting stuff with me. I worked on Brice's scarf for a while, but then I had some yarn that needed to be balled. So, I set off balling my four skeins of yarn. It was all going well until the last one. Somehow, it got all knotted up. It literally took me an hour and a half to untangle this mess. I was SO frustrated. We also found out that no gas station from Macon, GA to Sumter, SC has regular Chex Mix. They have every other flavor imaginable, but not regular.

What a mess.

We got to Brice's grandparents today around lunch time. So, we got settled in and ate some lunch, then we went to feed the infamous Mr. Ugly. He's a catfish that lives in the pond in the backyard. Brice's grandma and sister would go feed the catfish dog food and it just kept growing bigger and bigger. There's also some carp in the pond, too, that will come and eat the food. They're all pretty big.

Day 48: Space fish/Face ghost

Tonight, Mary Catherine, Emily, Morgan, and I went to see some high school friends' band in concert at a bookstore downtown. I had never been to said bookstore, and let me just say, the smell wasn't so appetizing. But we had fun looking at books waiting on the bands to start. We had no idea who the opening bands were so we didn't really listen to them to intently. And the band we were there to see, Space Ghost, was late going on because of some technical difficulties. So, as a result of them going on an hour late, we only stayed for one song because I'm getting up at 5:40 in the morning to go to South Carolina with Brice to his grandparents' house for Thanksgiving.

Setting up

Checking stuff out.

Half of Space Ghost playing. There were too many people in too little a room to get a picture of the full band.

Day 47: Ice Skating

Luke and I went ice skating tonight. It was fun! Surprisingly, it wasn't too crowded, which was nice. I look forward to going many more times this season. I love ice skating and try to go as much as possible.

Then we went to the Dollar Store to get some stocking stuffers, and we got some awesome new shades.

I've always wanted some of these.

We were stylin'.

Day 46: Snack Dinner

I taught 2nd and 3rd grade Sunday School today. I love seeing what these kids come up with. We were talking about John the Baptist, and I split up the girls and the boys and they were drawing their version of John the Baptist. So, I walk over to the boys, and there's this little scribble under his mouth, where one of them had messed up. Another boy says, "It's okay, it can be like a little beard thing." In other words, John the Baptist has a soul patch.

We made turkeys, too. Well, some of us did. Okay, some of the girls made turkeys. The boys weren't interested in my cute craft.

 Janie's turkey

Raley's turkey that kinda looks like a penguin...

Mine and Katie's snazzy turkeys with ties.

Yay turkeys!

After church, it was time to travel to Atlanta for the wonderfulness that is Bo Burnham. So, we set out for Destination: Variety Playhouse. After arriving safe and sound, and happening to have the good luck to find a parking spot RIGHT outside the door (which I successfully parallel parked in), we ate our sandwiches in the car. But later, Jessica informed some girl that we had eaten "snack dinner" instead of a sack dinner. We waited in line for about an hour, eating our huge Rice Crispy Treats. And it was worth it because we had awesome seats.

 Waiting outside

 Our Rice Crispy "Logs"

These are kind of blurry and grainy, but we weren't allowed to use a flash.

He was wonderful.

And then we met him. He was nice. Except for when he said my camera was going to blow up.

He signed my ticket because I left my CD in the car.

Sorry this was an extremely long post, but I had an eventful day and didn't want any of it to be excluded.

Day 45: Harry Potter

We went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 today! It was amazing. I'm rereading the book and I had almost gotten to the part where the movie stopped. But it may be one of my favorites. I'm just anxiously awaiting the last one.

Day 44: Phase 10 Phriday

Phase 10 Phridays are such a special event. I get to hang out with some of my favorite people and play my favorite game. It's wonderful.

 Katie dealing like Emily

Emma was trying to pick up a backpack that was almost as big as she was today. It was quite amusing to watch her struggle. She managed to get it on, but then had trouble standing up straight.

Day 43: Hot tea with lemon and honey

I got to spend time with two of my favorite girls tonight! I think Blake just likes for you to look at her because every time I would turn around, she would call my name. So, I would look back at her, and she would just smile.

 Ready to eat pizza

Day 42: Soothsayer

My giraffe hat came in the mail! I am super excited. I can't wait for our ski trip so I can wear it!

Day 41: Gobble Gobble

I got to the kids house today and went to move a can of seasoning off the table so I could put my stuff down. I asked Emma what it was and she said, "Oh, that's Slap Ya Mama." Seriously, it was called Slap Ya Mama

See?
We had Thanksgiving tonight at Wesley, 'cause we won't be here next week. It was delicious.

Zach's shirt matched the blue cornbread.

I'm not quite sure what all this was about.

I made a cake last night. But I iced it tonight since it hadn't cooled by the time I left Brice's last night. I only iced half of it though because Brice doesn't like icing.

Day 40: Catching up

Apparently, I don't watch good movies. Because sometime last year, Emily gave me like, half of her movie collection because I hadn't seen them, and each one was considered "the best." So, I've slowly been catching up on these movies, and returning them one by one. Tonight we watched What Happens In Vegas. It was really cute.

Day 39: Guilty Pleasure

I bought a cd today that I was almost embarrassed to buy.

See why? Okay, I'll admit it: I still listen to Hannah Montana, and I still watch Disney Channel. Luckily, I have one of the best jobs that allows me to use it as a cover up for the child inside of me dying to break loose. Fortunately, if anyone asks me why I have this cd in my car, I can say, "It's so we have something appropriate to listen to when the kids are in the car." (Unfortunately, now I have blown my cover, but I didn't have anything else to write about today...) But, I'll have you know, I do buy cds made for people my age. I bought the new Sara Bareilles cd not too long ago.

Day 38: Giraffe Hat

Giraffes are my most favorite animal in the world. So, naturally, I was excited when Katie Holloway told me she had found a giraffe hat online and informed me that she was buying said hat. Once I got out of her where she was getting it, I made sure she wouldn't be upset if I got one too, and then I ordered my own giraffe hat. So, it should be here very soon. I am anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Day 37: Gray hairs

Through Hulu, I have found several shows that I wouldn't have ordinarily watched. And thankfully, Hulu puts whole seasons of shows on their website. So, the newest show I'm catching up with on Hulu is Ugly Betty. It's pretty good so far. I'm in the first season. I'm not sure how many seasons there are total, but for now, Hulu just has the first one online. But it seems like it will be worth my while.

Day 36: I informed you thusly.

The most fabulous show in the history of television comes on Thursday nights: The Big Bang Theory. I'm not going to try to explain to you why it's awesome. You just have to see it for yourselves. Believe me, you will not be disappointed. If you are indeed disappointed, you can inform me thusly.

Day 35: Big Ol' Sweet Iced Tea

I had a huge calculus test today. It literally drained me of all energy and brain power. I was exhausted afterwards. So, I decided to reward myself with a nice large glass of Chick-fil-A sweet tea.

It was dee-lish-ous. It was the perfect addition to my afternoon. Which brings me to this: my love affair with Chick-fil-A. Most of you know I practically live there. You can spot me there breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I believe the only person who has perfectly described my relationship with Chick-fil-A is Tim Hawkins. Watch.

Day 34: Silly Cat

Meet Sniffles:

Sniffles likes to be right beside you all the time. Especially when you're trying to work on something important, like homework or eating a snack. And he'll try to head butt you so that he can sit in your lap, like so:

Sometimes, he just forces himself into your lap, like so:

But sometimes, I let him because he keeps me warm...
