Our wonderful college felt the need to change its mascot. We were the mustangs. The only problem? No one knew we even had a mascot. But, no...we couldn't just raise awareness of the fact that we do indeed have a mascot, we have to change it entirely. So they held a contest to decide this new mascot. Anyone could send in suggestions and the student government would pick their top five and forward those onto the president of the college. The mascot they picked? The Blue Storm. What's a blue storm, you ask? That's a good question. If I knew the answer, I'd tell you. What does a blue storm look like, you ask? That's also a good question. You might also ask, How do you put that on a t-shirt? That I also don't know. Nonetheless, I am not a fan of our new mascot. I did not feel the need to change it in the first place. I was proud to be a mustang.
This was Mitchel's purchase of the day. He came into calculus with a grocery bag, sits down, and pulls out this severed hand. Understandably, I ask "Why do you have a severed hand?" His response: "It was only a dollar at the dollar store." Well, apparently that makes sense. To my knowledge, he didn't open it. It just sat in its little plastic wrapping on our table.
In exactly one week, I will begin my project365. For those of you who haven't been keeping up with my blog from the beginning, project365 is meant for you to have a picture for every day for a year. I've been wanting to do this for a while, since my friend Jessica started doing it. But I didn't want to wait until January to start it, so I'm doing it during the 19th year of my life, which begins next Thursday. So, stay tuned.

Killing time.
I drove all the way to school (30 minutes), walked all the way across campus, and found out my class was cancelled. I could have slept for another hour and a half! But instead, I'm sitting here on campus, bored, waiting for 11 o'clock to roll around. So, as soon as I'm done writing this, I will attempt to be productive and spend some quality time with this little guy:
We'll see how this goes...

Comment Card!
This past weekend, I went with some really good friends to a conference called Women of Faith. I went with my mom, Beth, and Kelly. We went up Thursday night and played a crazy game of Phase 10 in our hotel room. Beth ended up winning, but only cause Kelly was distracting me by making me look up cheesy pick up lines. (Ex: "My love for you is like diarrhea, I just can't hold it in.")
Then, Friday, we started our day listening to two different speakers. Patsy Clairmont is this cute little woman with lots of spunk. She was very interesting and funny to listen to. The other speaker was Andy Andrews. He's written several books, one of which Mama says is very good. However, everyone was talking about what a great story teller he was, but he was very scattered and I couldn't keep up.
Friday night was probably one of my favorite sessions. Anita Renfroe is a comedian that performed. She was hysterical. Her song "Big Ol' Sweet Iced Tea" was great. Click here for the song. Click here for her song "Wrinkled Ladies." This song is also hilarious. You should check out some of her other videos, too, but these are my favorite of the ones she performed. After Anita, Steven Curtis Chapman performed, and his wife Mary Beth spoke about the loss of their daughter Maria. It was a really great story.
Saturday, we heard from Sandi Patty. That was pretty cool. She has a good voice. And then we had a concert by Mandisa. I've loved Mandisa since I saw her on American Idol, and today was no exception. She was phenomenal. And she wore a snuggie when she sat on the porch. Marilyn Meberg also spoke Saturday, but I accidentally fell asleep, so I don't know quite what she talked about. Beth, Kelly, Mama...help me out?
Over all, it was a great weekend, with great friends, but I'm glad to be back home and sleep in my bed. :)

Kelly was trying to figure out how to use the front camera on her iPhone while killing time Friday.
Killing time...I think Mama was talking to Teresa at this point so she didn't make it into the picture.

Dr. Sheldon Cooper
The Big Bang Theory starts back tonight! If you don't watch this show, you definitely should. It is absolutely hilarious! Easily my favorite show. In the picture is Jim Parsons, who plays my favorite character Sheldon.
Usually, I keep up with new music coming out. However, I felt a little pathetic when my eight year old babysitting charge introduced me to a new band I found amazing. She finds these new bands by watching Taylor Swift videos on youtube then clicking on other recommended videos. So, she clicks on this video by The Band Perry and I was a little skeptic since I had never seen it and didn't know if it was appropriate. But she says, "It's okay. I've seen this one before. It's appropriate." She completely read my mind. We start the video, and I was blown away. Now I'm hooked. I even downloaded their new ep. So if you want to check out the video by The Band Perry, click here. I would highly recommend it.

Birthdays!
Today is my Daddy's birthday! and Kristen Amerson's! Yay for family member's birthdays! (Kristen counts as family. I mean, she held my brother down on the floor while we force fed him a sandwich, how could she not be considered family?)
So, as I sat here pondering what my blog should be about, Katie Holloway informed me that it should be about her.
This is Katie Holloway. She's pretty much amazing...Except when she gobbles you. That's no fun. [Side note: I made that shirt she's wearing.] Anyways, back to Katie Holloway... She won't tell me what she wants me to write, so I'll tell you what I know.

- Her best friend, other than me, of course, is Sterling, who is also amazing.
- She likes the Sound of Music. Who doesn't?
- She's always willing to help you whenever you need it.
- She helps out with the kids at FHUMC.
- She works at Publix.
- She's a senior at HHS.
- She obviously doesn't know much about herself since she couldn't tell me anything to write about.

Matchy Matchy
Most of you who know me know that I can't stand to not match. I don't like certain color combinations (navy blue and black, black and brown), and I have to match in every aspect of my outfit. It's so ridiculous that I even have to have my socks match my outfit whether you can see them or not (like if I'm wearing boots). And I can't stand to have a pair of sock that don't match. If I lose one sock of a pair, I throw the other one away. No mismatched socks for Sarah. So, when we realized that in our Wesley Foundation band, A Minor Situation, Mikey and I--the two singers--matched Nathan and Brice--our sound and computer guys, I was really excited. Mikey and Brice were wearing green and Nathan and I were wearing purple. I thought it was cute that we coordinated without planning. Not to mention, we looked a tad like Barney...
The picture quality isn't that great...I don't think the flash went off. Regardless, you get the idea.

Busy, Busy, Busy
So, this blog thing might be harder that I expected. My busy schedule may prevent me from updating as often as I'd like, but no fear, Shakespeare, I'll still update...just less frequently than I'd like.
Today's story comes to you live from Macon State College. I got out of class early and thought, "Hey! Why not update my blog?!?" So, here I am, updating my blog. Well, I've been waiting on Bo Burnham (a comedian) to update his tour schedule for this fall so that I can go see him when he comes near us. Well, last night I checked and he had updated the dates! I got extremely excited, until I realized that the closest venue to us was in Texas. This made me extremely sad. So sad, in fact, that I decided to express my sadness straight to Bo himself. I promptly logged into my facebook, went to his fan page, and wrote on his wall, telling him about how he should add in a date for somewhere in Georgia. Anywhere in Georgia. Now, Bo likes to answer as many of his fans as he can, but we all know how unrealistic it is for him to respond to every single person. So, as I fell asleep last night, I had no high hopes that I would get an answer. However, I was proved wrong when this morning I checked my notifications, and Bo had written back to me! I was super excited. Now, I do realize that just because he said he'd try and fix this issue, it most likely won't happen this fall. I realize that he can't go everywhere at once. However, he'll make it back to Georgia one day, and by golly, I'll be there on that day.
Here, you can see my wall post and response from Bo, just in case you were doubting me...I realize that you can't exactly read what I wrote. But to make the picture big enough to where you can, it throws off the layout of the blog. Therefore, if you'd like to read exactly what I wrote, you can click on the picture and it will become large enough to where you can read it.

Experiment
Okay, so since I'm going to do project365, I'll have to put up pictures every day. This is my picture experiment. I've got to figure out how to get this stuff all situated and such.
Needless to say, I spent my Saturday in a wonderful place with an amazing person. :)

New Additions
new items for today: $5 shoes, $3 socks, and a blog.
First of all, I've been wanting to start a blog. But I also wanted to do the project 365 thing, where you have a picture for every day. But I didn't want to wait til January to start a blog. So, I've decided to do the project 365 during the 19th year of my life, which starts exactly one month from today. But I decided to go ahead and make my blog, so I can get used to how it works.
Now, shoes and socks. I drive 25 minutes to school every day. Well, today, half-way there, I realized I was wearing flip flops and I had my Chemistry lab today. It also happened to be the one day I didn't have extra shoes in my car. So, I went to good ole Wal-mart. I found a sweet pair of black tennis shoes on sale for $5. Well, I couldn't wear tennis shoes without socks, so off I go to search for socks. Luckily I found socks on sale too! Two pairs for $3, and they're environmentally friendly. They're made with organic cotton...
